It’s murder! Everyone loves a good ‘whodunnit’ whether it’s a classic old fashioned Miss Marple style caper, more of a comedy Pink Panther style escapade, or a gritty urban detective style plot. Normally we watch these sort of things on the telly, but there are ways and means of bringing a murder mystery to life (but only for pretend, of course!).
If you’re organising a corporate ‘do’, murder mystery parties and events will certainly make sure your company is remembered. Whether it’s for a new product launch, staff incentive or just a bit of a jolly to reward workers at the end of the year, these parties are really memorable and, above all, fun.
You and your guests are all key witnesses in the drama that will unfold before your very eyes during dinner. What we like most about these events is that they can be themed for your company, which can only add to the entertainment value of it all!
Once the domain of corporate events, there are now lots of murder mystery dinners for individuals too, including a murder mystery on a steam train. This is classic Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot all rolled into one, when police detectives had impressive moustaches and ladies wept into their fine lace hankies. Board the steam train and get settled for your dinner, when suddenly the train grinds to a halt and there’s a shout of ‘body on the line!’….
These murder mystery events are hugely popular as gifts for couples or families and we can highly recommend them, having bought a table for four of us for Mother’s Day last year. Great fun and the actors were superb!
If you fancy organising your own event, you should check out the murder mystery shop, an online site that actually has downloadable role playing scripts and scenarios so you can act out your own drama! Great fun for a birthday party amongst friends or an end of term party, these well written mini plays are an excellent idea and we’ve never come across them anywhere else on the web. The site also has suggestions for fancy dress costumes, so everything you need for a very fun evening!
How about mixing the best of British comedy with murder? That’s what you get with the Fawlty Towers murder mystery play that is a whole lot of laughs. This company is an expert when it comes to acting out brilliantly written skitches and sketches. Not only a hit in the corporate event and team-building world, this lot go down an absolute storm at weddings and birthday parties too.
Imagine being invited to a corporate dinner, when suddenly Manuel stumbles into the room, drops a few crème brulees on the floor and announces he’s just seen a body. Prepare for lots of laughs as the caper unfolds with the likes of Basil and Sybil and the maid Polly getting embroiled in a conundrum.
